As soon as I was done watching the K-ON! series, I was dying to get their manga. Since it wasn’t released in Canada yet, I bought the Japanese version instead. Being the first Japanese manga in my collection, I’m shocked on how different it was compared to the English versions.

I was able to find Aoi House – Omnibus Collection I & II on sale. These are compilations of the comic strips taken straight from Newtype USA. IGN.COM chose the series as the #3 Best Manga of the year.

After the US had priority release of Lucky Star series, this manga finally hit Canadian stores. Comparing with the Japanese title, it’s almost identical.

I was at Chapters when I first found the title. It was on one of those “newly arrived” racks when I picked it up. Judging by the cover was all I could do. I flipped through a few pages and thought the artwork was quite interesting. I read the beginning and was quite confused at first. Eventually, they’ll introduce the characters and concept of the book.
